Terms & Conditions

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to work in your jurisdiction, to use HappyWorka.
• Account types (individual, HR, admin) determine what you can access. Attempting to gain access outside your role is a breach of these terms.
• If you create an HR workspace, you confirm you are authorised to act for that organisation.

HappyWorka provides resume scoring, a resume builder, resume optimisation workflows, career health tracking, a remote jobs board, community features (the Community Wall, Yards and private Messages), a peer-to-peer Marketplace, a blog and newsletter, games, and anonymous employee surveys. We may add, change or withdraw features to improve the product, and will avoid removing anything you rely on without notice where reasonably possible.

CV scores, insights, recommendations and optimised resume text are automated, informational outputs. They are not career, legal, medical, financial or HR advice, and they are not a guarantee of any interview, job offer, promotion or outcome. Career health check-ins are a self-reflection tool, not a clinical or diagnostic instrument — if you are struggling, please seek qualified help. You remain responsible for reviewing and verifying anything you submit to an employer.

You keep ownership of the resumes, notes and other content you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to operate the features you use. You confirm you have the right to upload it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or contain third-party personal data you are not entitled to share.

• The Starter plan is free. Pro and Teams are paid subscriptions billed monthly in advance through our payment processor.
• Prices are displayed in US dollars. Charges are processed in Ghana cedi (GHS) at the rate shown before you pay, so your bank statement will show a GHS amount.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Billing; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Teams is billed per employee per month based on the number of seats you select.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you were charged in error, email happyworka@gmail.com and we will put it right.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

You agree not to:

• Upload unlawful, malicious or infringing content, or malware of any kind.
• Harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against other members in posts, comments, Yards, listings, reviews or private messages, or post sexual, hateful or violent content.
• Spam the Community Wall, Yards, Messages or the Marketplace, post the same listing repeatedly, or use anonymous posting to evade these rules.
• Attempt to de-anonymise survey respondents, or use survey results to retaliate against or single out employees.
• Probe, scrape, reverse engineer, overload or attempt to bypass the security or access controls of the service.
• Resell or redistribute the service without our written permission.
• Impersonate another person or organisation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, and will tell you why where we lawfully can.

• Yards are member-run. Yard owners and admins may approve or decline join requests, remove posts and remove members from their Yard.
• Respect Yard privacy. Content from a private or secret Yard must not be copied or shared outside it, and you must not attempt to access a Yard you have not been admitted to.
• Anonymous posting hides your name from other members. It does not hide you from our moderation and safety processes.
• We may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts that breach these rules, and our moderation decisions are final.

• The Marketplace is a peer-to-peer listing board. HappyWorka is not a party to any transaction, does not process Marketplace payments, does not hold funds in escrow, and does not own, inspect, verify, store or deliver any item or service listed.
• Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, for owning or being entitled to sell what they list, for holding any licence or qualification a listed service requires, and for meeting all tax, consumer and legal obligations that apply to them.
• Buyers are responsible for their own due diligence. Never send payment before receiving and verifying an item or service, meet in safe public places, keep communication on HappyWorka where possible, and agree deliverables, timelines and milestones in writing for services.
• Prohibited listings include weapons, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, counterfeit or stolen goods, adult content, live animals, financial or medical products requiring licences you do not hold, personal data, account or credential sales, multi-level marketing and any get-rich-quick or pyramid scheme.
• Reviews must reflect a genuine dealing. Fake, incentivised, retaliatory or traded reviews will be removed.
• Any dispute over a Marketplace transaction is between the buyer and the seller. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HappyWorka accepts no liability for loss, damage, fraud, injury or non-performance arising from a Marketplace dealing. We may remove listings, revoke badges and suspend accounts at our discretion for safety reasons.

Blog articles are informational and partly AI-assisted with human review; they are not professional advice. The newsletter is opt-in and every issue includes an unsubscribe link. Games are no longer part of HappyWorka itself: the Games link opens our separate games site, Banga Games, which has its own terms and is provided purely for entertainment with no prize, wager or monetary value.

If you run surveys, you are the controller of how you use the results. You must comply with applicable employment and data protection law, keep survey participation voluntary, and preserve respondent anonymity.

The CV Optimizer links to an external AI assistant, subscription payments are handled by an external processor, remote job listings are supplied by third-party job boards and lead to external application pages, and blog drafts and AI insights are generated with a third-party AI provider. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability.

Community posts, Yard content, Marketplace listings, reviews and messages are created by members, not by HappyWorka. We do not endorse or verify member content and are not responsible for it, although we do act on reports. If you see something unsafe, use the report button or email happyworka@gmail.com.

The HappyWorka name, logo, interface, scoring methodology and software are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service, nothing more.

We work to keep HappyWorka available and accurate, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not liable for outages caused by third-party providers or events outside our control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HappyWorka is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost income, lost employment opportunities or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You may stop using the service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or end your access for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where required by law. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we will handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email and the effective date above will change. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to happyworka@gmail.com.
